The Abstract Double Layer Glass Mosaic

This piece was a test: what happens when a mosaic has depth? Underneath is a subtle, warped white grid. On top, carefully cut pieces of art glass are raised in a second layer, so the shapes seem to float above it.

Like my other abstracts, it’s made from art glass offcuts, and the shapes flow loosely across it. It’s 18 by 14 inches, mounted on a wood panel.

You can see more of my work on the glass mosaic wall art page. New mosaics go to my email list first. If you’d like to see the next one before anyone else, join the list.
